ok so i have a blog that has a HUGE wordpress database i did the automatic upgrade and it kept telling me to upgrade the database, my hosting provider did this for me cause it kept timing out… but it kept asking me over and over to upgrade…

SOLUTION: go into phpmyadmin goto wp_options goto the next page or so and search out db_version changed to 12329 and BAM your back in your backend
